Point-and-shoots? Now called 'digicams'
I made a thing on YouTube.
Hi there,
It’s fun to see the recent digicam craze. Everything old eventually becomes new again, and sure enough, it’s the classic point-and-shoot camera’s time to shine.
Remember point-and-shoots? They were everywhere in the mid-2000s. After using disposable film cameras through high school and college, I purchased my first digicam for my Route 66 trip—an HP model I picked up at Best Buy. Then, it was a Canon PowerShot SD750, and boy, did I take that camera everywhere.
In fact, I still have it.

As you can see, it’s still a capable camera. All these photos were captured on the PowerShot.
After a big snowstorm in January, I hiked into the Kate Palmer Wildlife Sanctuary in Jackson, took my trusty PowerShot on a photo walk in the woods, and made a YouTube video.
I also shared a few classic and recent shots with the PowerShot, a camera I used for years on many trips from 2007 until I bought my Canon Rebel T1i in 2010.
Read all about it, and watch the video, on the blog.
