Artists In Jackson: Logan Swoffer
Creativity and transformation define Logan Swoffer’s artistic journey
Hello there.
For the latest Artists In Jackson 2 profile, I visit printmaker Logan Swoffer at Art 634.
Logan has a helluva story, and I won’t spoil it here, but I came away from our conversation with admiration for his journey. Read Logan’s full profile:
Make sure to follow him on Instagram, too.
I appreciate the unapologetic political nature of Logan’s work. His art often blends delicate floral imagery with bold political statements, advocating for trans rights and marginalized communities.
"Print is the perfect vessel. I can put it up wherever I want. Say what I want. The pointedness is out of necessity," he says.
It’s important to make work that speaks to your heart, and if it speaks to others’ - even better.
Project Update
Artists In Jackson 2 is going well. I’m talking to a local artist about every week, give or take.
Recently, I stopped back into Art 634 to chat with Jason Heinrich at Yesterdream Studio, and 21 Blooms Tattoo Studio to talk with Dylan Sodt. Look for those profiles soon.

Things I’m Into Lately
It’s tough to be creative and have kids. Making Things While Raising Humans is a good primer and anxiety reducer: “Because despite all this, I still make things. Not always the things I want to make, or in the way I’d like to make them. But I create. I find cracks in the schedule and plant ideas like wildflowers in sidewalk seams.”
Finding time/energy is hard. Finding inspiration? In this economy? Harder still. Which is why we need to make time to make things, even when the world is on fire, says Amie McNee.
Speaking of fire: As the world warms up, we may (unfortunately) get a chance to see what’s under the Antarctic ice. Here’s a sneak preview (lakes!).
Being a slow thinker can make you look stupid sometimes, especially when someone asks you a question. Glad I’m not alone.

The summer schedule is picking up. Finding time to dedicate to projects and creativity will take some patience. The nice thing is, we have some traveled scheduled, so we’ll have some new, fun places to see and photograph.
Take care,
Dave Lawrence
