Artists In Jackson: Dylan Sodt

Art as anatomy, geometry, and material science

Hello there.

For the latest Artists In Jackson 2 profile, I pay a visit to Dylan Sodt at Emerald Sun Studios.

Dylan is a piercer, but that barely scratches the surface. For them, piercing is not just a form of body modification. It’s a practice of empowerment, trust, and transformation.

“I can build a little home with people in 30 minutes,” they say. “It creates a ritual environment. It’s an energetic exchange. They’re trusting me—and that’s when I think I have the best job.”

Make sure to follow Dylan on Instagram for the latest openings and examples.

Late last year, I got to watch Dylan pierce Jaime’s nose first-hand. It was a breeze to watch and (according to my wife) experience.

21 Blooms Tattoo Studio, where Dylan has built his space, is a creative hub that includes Madison McCarver, whom I covered for Artists In Jackson earlier this year.
